Final Idea for Album Cover

Below I have explained how our 4-Panel Album Cover will look like:

Front: On the front of the cover, we are going to have two pictures of Cordell with a established background of London city which we acquired from stills frames of the video. We are going to use Photoshop to merge both pictures together to make it stand out from the background.

1st Inside Cover: On the inside cover, on the first side, we are going to put more pictures of Cordell, from the stills frames, to make the artist stand out and sell himself.

2nd Inside Cover: On the second side of the inside cover, due to lack of images, we are going to put an autographed signature of Cordell along, which will be covered by the CD disc.

Back Cover: On the back cover, we are going to have a massive picture of Cordell faded out which will be covered with writing, such as the name of the track etc..along the bottom, we are going to have the music company's name and the bar code.

Ideas for digipak cover

The album cover for our digipak will consist of (as agreed by all group members) a photo of Chris Brown. In our case we will have a photo of Cordell who played Chris Brown in our video. For the album cover we have to decide the variety of body positions and stance of Cordell along with the type of shot.

Our layout choice for the Digipak will be the Four-Panel Digipak. This is because it is the most simplest to do, we also do not need many info in the digipak, and we have some rough ideas for it.

This is a sample of how a four panel digipak looks like. it has four sides, two inside and two outside. The front is where cordells pictures is going to be and the back will be where the track name is going to go, along with the company name. In the inside we will have more pictures of cordell...

Digipak Research Homework

During this research, I am going to be looking at Album Artworks of the artists similar to the one we have used for our music video. I am going to be comparing and talking about the features, and any typical conventions (if there are any)

This is the album cover for Chris Brown Exclusive Edition, which also features the track lottery which was the song we chose as our music video. The cover features him, looking smart and attractive. The cover also shows the name of the album, the artist name and a bold background. As you can see, the artist stands out the most as they try and sell their album and themselves to the audience.

This is how the back cover looks like of Chris Browns Graffiti album. As usual, the cover shows a picture of him, dressed and looking attractive like the front cover. The back cover however gives information of all the tracks on the album, such as the name of the tracks. The font also goes with the name of the album, Graffiti. The cover also holds information of the record company which produced the album, which is sony.

This is the album cover of another RnB Artist, Beyonce. This album is recent and is named Shasha Feirce. This is very similar to Chris Browns album cover, as it shows the artist on the front cover. However, this cover has a light background, and makes the artist stand out even more then Chris Brown Cover. The cover also gives the title of the album on the side.

This is the back cover of the album from Cheryl Cole. Unlike Chris Browns cover, she does not show her self but more of the track list. This cover also has a light background, so the audience can read the track clearly. Similarly, the back cover holds information about the record company which produced the album.

In conclusion, most of the albums i have researched on have the artist on the front cover, and the tracklist of the back.

Finishing and Editing video-11,12,14 of January 2010

During the 3 days of editing, we have stayed after college to make sure we will be able to hand the video in on the 15th. We have organised our clips in i movie and arranged the order. We have made sure that there are alot of rapid cuts involved, at different locations. Unfortunately, because we were sooo focused on our lypsynching, we have not managed to make a story out of the video. However, we have made shots of when the male is thinking about the girl..dreaming of him having her number.

We have also added some match on action shots, medium, closeup, long shots. Because we had some long clips, we had to break the clips down and added some cutaway shots. This way it will not bore the audience. Finally to make the video stand out, we have added some transitions, including fade in, fade out. Finally we were able to hand in our film on the 15th.

Change of Location..

Due to sever weather conditions(Snow and Rain), we had to change our video settings from outdoors to indoors. Instead of the park as one of the locations, we had to go under a tunnel and film the video. We also chose the city of London as one of our establishing shot. The film was mainly done at limehouse.

Change of Storyline...

Due to the female actress no being available when we done our filming, we were forced to change our storyline from what it use to be.

New Storyline...
The male actor is in need and desperation to have the girls number, however because she has taken his number, and not given hers to him, he is left stranded and in deep gaze of when she will call him. In the video, the male actor sings for her, he also starts seeing her everywhere, but she inst actually there. He sings about what it will mean if she does call him, and gives her number to him. As days go by, he keeps on waiting, for that special call. During the final part of the video, the girl does eventually call him, giving her number to him...and the male actor gets excited....

Shooting-09/01/10

Today we went to finish our shooting at lime house, in the snowy weather. We have done alot of cutaway shots, and we able to repeat the chorus a few times, so we do not bore the audience with one long shot. We have also decided to use a few photos of the girl in our video as she was not available to act.

Editing- 08/01/10

Today we have started to edit our final music video. We have organised our footage and so far have done a minute of video editing. However, the second main verse of our track was missing, so we have to take the weekend to shoot the specific parts. Also, we need to make sure we shoot our chorus again, so we have a variety of locations added into our video. We aim to finish all the filming by Monday, and take the final week to fully edit and go through our music video, fixing all the weaknesses. The final deadline for the music video will be on Friday the 15th.

Shooting- 6/01/10

Today we have finished shooting most of our video. We have met up in the morning and spent 2 hours to complete the shooting. We mainly focused on the parts we need to redo as some footage in the camera had errors. We have also uploaded all the footage on the laptop, and will begin to finish the final editing by next Friday.
